How I Structure The ‘Bread And Butter Part Of My Income…

For quite a while my income was shaky when I first went full-time online.

I’m not talking about the actual amount that came in – I seemed to earn at least the same as the previous month if not a little more each month.

But it felt shaky because I knew that I had to make sales every month to keep it coming, and that’s more stressful than you might think.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as stressful as being a coal miner or an emergency room nurse, but it did have its moments

And with one baby and another on the way, I knew I needed some stability financially as quickly as possible.

Remember although it had been a while since I quit my job I was still having to make NEW sales each and every month to keep my income at this level.

And that’s hard work whatever level you’re at.

So I took a step back and looked at the whole internet marketing niche from a very common-sense viewpoint

I could see I needed to build a core income, (or ‘bread and butter’ income as I later called it) that would basically pay my bills and leave me with room to breathe and be creative to build my business.

 I had to find a way to get hundreds of people to pay me on the same date every month so I knew when and how much money I had coming in…

 …and all I would have to do was create fresh content for them each month, NOT have to make new sales, be forced to find new customers or worry about driving new traffic.

 The answer was recurring payments, continuity, subscriptions, membership sites or whatever you want to call it.

 The payment processor (I used Clickbank to start with) was already available to me so I just needed to look round to see what type of product was selling well.

 I did a few day’s research and decided I’d go into the PLR creation business!

Within a month or so I’d built a PLR membership site (I outsourced the creation of the PLR packages)…

Within 30 days my original PLR site had sold out so I built a second one, marketed it in the same way and that one sold out too!

I learned quickly that limiting the places in my PLR membership worked very well in terms of scarcity, and limited each site to 100 people initially.

IMPORTANT: I worked my arse off to sell those PLR places, using all sorts of techniques from mailing my list right through to banners, swapping ad placements, offering $1 trials to my partner’s lists and including affiliate programs to attract more JV partners.

Looking back, one of the other best things I did was to work solidly for two days tracking and collating which selling/traffic method worked the best, and for the following month put all my efforts into THOSE methods alone.

The result was that I had much more than my monthly bills covered by this continuity (around $5400 per month and that increased dramatically as I added more continuity sites) and the stress and pressure of having to make new sales every month lifted like a kid losing his grip on a helium balloon.

$5400 was TWICE the salary I’d dumped to go full-time online BTW 🙂

So that was my method.

Simple and straightforward – just add hard work and mix.

It’s easy to do the same…

Research what content or service people want and make it into a continuity site.

Work your danglies off promoting it in every way you can think of or afford and then spend a solid 48 hours tracking which methods work.

Then work your butt off AGAIN focusing on just those methods.

Finally (and this is a biggie), plug your continuity program into the back end of EVERYTHING you do.

 EVERYTHING!

If you have a sales funnel make sure it’s in there, even if it’s entirely unrelated.

Yes even with unrelated products this does work but track and test it so you know your numbers.

Make sure that every new subscriber who comes onto your list knows about your continuity and are reminded regularly about it.

Create a discount offer and place your ad on your JV partner’s thank you pages in exchange for you promoting their launches

Email your ENTIRE list when you add new content. Tell them about this months’ exciting new content and if they haven’t joined yet tell them that they should.

Make the email appealing enough to pull in new members.

By doing this you’re letting existing members know that there is new content to download but you’re also making the email into a teaser to encourage new members.

If you frame your emails this way it’s really just sales copy 🙂

As soon as you feel you know even the basics of your internet marketing business, start working on the continuity sites that will make up your bread and butter income.

It’ll take away much of your stress, remove your reliance on having to do launches every six weeks to make money and eventually it will totally remove some of the dependence you have on JV partners and affiliates.

It’s why I don’t need to do launches and why I don’t need affiliates.

Don’t sell your domain too cheap either because if someone really wants it they will buy it paying a few thousand dollars. There is nothing wrong with buying a domain name for 10.00 and flipping it for 400.00, this will be a big profit but make sure you don’t sell yourself short.

There have been plenty of eBook creator tools in the past, but I haven’t seen any that make the entire process as smooth and quick as Sqribble. It’s surprisingly glitch free (most low-priced tools like this are buggy as hell) and it’s packed with some really cool features.

The templates are very nice looking, the layouts are professional and the fact you can automatically add content makes this a must have for anyone who’s tired of spending hours slaving over book design, writing content and screwing around with formatting.

The icing on the cake is the commercial license which is included. Normally vendors charge extra for this, so it’s a huge value added bonus. The additional provided done-for-you agency website is just over delivery.

The trick is to get in between people’s purchases and the stuff they’re purchasing if you can find a way to be in the middle between purchases that are already happening. That’s all you need.

And once you have an audience of people on the internet and there’s very easy ways to do this and I’ll talk about this more in a second here but you can insert yourself in the middle and make massive amounts of money like I have online.

And you don’t need to be the person that owns the product you don’t need to be making client calls, you don’t need to be showing up at an office or managing people and all these sorts of old-world ways of doing business.

All you need to do is get in between stuff that people are already buying online and insert yourself in between these and the money will flow. That’s what I’ve been able to do I’ve been able to make hundreds of thousands of dollars online and Before I explain my my system for doing so which is very simple in a second.

I think it’s good to give you some context of how I came into this industry. So, I don’t know how many people here have read the book the 4-hour workweek,but I read this book back in 2009 called the 4-hour workweek and it talks about how you can have freedom and time by starting an Internet business online.

The fact is, as long as you can make money online you can be anywhere you want in the world and you could do it anytime you want because the internet doesn’t care when you work and I said this sounds great because my passion in life has been to have more quality time with my family.

I didn’t figure it out immediately though. I figured it took me four years to the 4-hour workweek took me, you know, four years of just failure and I’ve taken a million courses online trying to figure out what is an easy way to get started.

My goal was the freedom to travel and do things on my own terms and I knew to get that freedom, I had to learn how to make money online to figure out how to use the internet computers and insert myself in the middle here.

The best way to make money online is what I call affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is when you can insert yourself in between what people are already looking for on search engines and through special interests.

Five Surefire Ways to Increase Conversions and Sales

If you’re like most online marketers, small business owners, bloggers or other website owners, then you’re always looking for ways to increase your conversions and sales. After all, it’s just smart business to make the most of your traffic. If you can boost your ROI, then you’ll be putting more money in your pocket at the end of every day.

Now here’s the thing…

You don’t do one grand gesture in order to increase your conversions and sales. Instead, you take a series of small steps. And collectively, these small steps add up to BIG results.

What sort of steps should you take? Below you’ll find five surefire ways to boost your conversions and sales.

And the best part?

#1. Present an exit offer.

A lot of marketers figure if a visitor is leaving their site, then that visitor wasn’t really targeted or interested. And that assumption is a big mistake.

So, what happens?

Here’s what you do: when they leave your sales page, make them an offer they can’t refuse. For example:

•  Give them a free trial.
•  Give them a low-cost trial.
•  Offer a “lite” version of the software at a reduced price.
•  Give them a discount coupon for the full version of the software.

Now what does your prospect say? “YES!” And you just saved a sale and created a customer!

#2. Get visitors on your list.

This is pretty basic, but it’s a strategy that plenty of marketers still overlook. Simply put, you need to work hard to get as many of your visitors on your mailing list as possible. That way, you can follow up with them via email over time to close the sale.

Remember, a person leaving your site isn’t saying, “no.” They might be saying, “not yet,” or “maybe.” And when you get them on your mailing list, you can turn that “maybe” into a definite yes.

#3. Offer an exciting bonus.

If you’re an affiliate, then it’s no secret you’re competing against hundreds or even thousands of other affiliates who are all selling the exact same thing.

Think about that for a moment.

Saying, “Hey, buy this thing through this link” isn’t going to be enough to pocket those commissions. To meet that goal, you need to do two things:

1.Develop a good reputation in the niche. Obviously, this isn’t something you do in a short amount of time. This is an ongoing task that requires you to promote good products, do so in an honest way, and really help your audience.

2.Add value to every offer. In other words, offer prospects a bonus if they purchase a product through your affiliate link.

This second one is really effective, and it’s something you can start doing immediately. Simply offer a related, valuable bonus that’s in high-demand, and you’ll see your conversion rates get a huge boost. And for obvious reasons – people like to get the most bang for their buck, so they’re going to use the affiliate link that gives them more value for their money.

#4. Upsell your customers.

You’ve got a prospect sitting on your order form with their credit card in hand. Prospects don’t get much hotter than this. He’s in the buying mood. And that’s why now is the very best time to suggest that he add something to his order. In other words, offer an upsell or cross-sell of a product that will enhance the use and/or enjoyment of the main product.

For example, let’s suppose you have someone who’s ordering a meal-planning app from you for the purposes of losing weight. Offer an accompanying diet guide or low-calorie cookbook as a cross-sell, and you’re sure to boost your average per-transaction price.

Here’s another idea for boosting conversions and sales…

#5. Display a countdown timer.

Sometimes your prospects are interested in your offer. But for whatever reason, they put off the actual purchase. They bookmark your page and tell themselves they’ll come back to it later.

You can guess what happens, right?

Yep, “later” never comes. The person loses interest in your product once the excitement of the sales pitch wears off. Or life gets in the way, and they totally forget about your offer.

What’s the solution to saving these sales?

You need to stir up a sense of urgency. You need to make people feel like they need to purchase RIGHT NOW… or risk missing out. Yes, you need to create a little fear.

You know what creates just the right amount of order-boosting fear? A limited time offer. And to make it even more powerful, you can match this offer with a countdown timer that’s visually ticking down the hours, minutes and seconds left before the offer expires. It’s a powerful way to boost the sense of urgency – and your sales!
